lately i've been trying to figure things out with the mall i go to. i keep going back to see the guy at the electronics shop but half the time it sells trinkets and clothing and the other half of the time it's out back behind his house in a garage. he has like ninety rolands and some old radio equipment, half of it he doesn't wanna sell because he's always using it. i wanna go through more of it but it gets really dark the further back into his garage you go. i think it just turns into darkness after awhile and nothing is behind it. sometimes it's on the third floor too and it ends up being real dark and creepy and sad because he set up shop in what used to be a laser tag arena, but the mall wasn't making enough money from it so they shut it down. he knew some of the right people and ended up setting up shop selling radio stuff and old video game consoles that were super obscure. i know a lot about that kinda stuff, but i've never seen some of the stuff he's got there before. he had these two commodore PET 2001 machines with the sixty five oh two processors and the original chiclet keyboards and they were both just in beautiful shape. you'd go in there and i swear one of them was always on and reading a datasette. i'm not sure what he was doing with them ever, but it wasn't unusual to see him messing around with the other one. i don't know how he moved his store like that, or how he'd changed form the way he did. not sure how i ended up there either, to be honest. does everybody forget how they got there? i suppose it doesn't matter. the last time i was in, he was on the second floor of the mall, and there was some sort of huge sale going on. people were buying tripp pants and green glowy stuff left and right so nobody was really in his store. he had a few weird vintage student model electric guitars for pretty absurdly cheap. i wish i still liked playing guitar; i would've picked one up but i couldn't justify it for any price because i don't play enough anymore. has anyone else noticed that there's no food court at this mall? and no restaurants? not even a cinnabun or a sbarro. how did we get in here? do any of you know how to get into the walls or into the places that aren't owned yet and just have a big retractable fence where usually you'd enter? i dunno, it's funky. weird place. are we in minnesota? or is this in wisconsin? is this just in the middle of like pierce county where there's nothing for miles and then just this place? or is it in like in a smallish town tucked away behind something? a lot of the stuff here seems derelict. some scattered trash in the parking lot along with some old cans manufactured by long-defunct soda brands. what does the wind smell like? why is it familiar? i can't place it.
